Terms and conditions

The terms for using this website, and for the free sample leads and portfolio checks we send to investors.

Last updated: 1 November 2026

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use originsignal.co.uk (the “site”) or receive sample leads or a portfolio check from us. By using the site or asking for either, you accept them. If you don’t accept them, please don’t use the site.

If you subscribe to OriginSignal, the terms of your subscription will apply to it as well. Our privacy policy explains how we use personal data.

2. Who we are

OriginSignal is a trading name of Team Dimensions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08348964) with its registered office at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Team Dimensions Ltd. You can email us at hello@originsignal.co.uk.

3. Who OriginSignal is for

OriginSignal is for people and firms who invest in UK companies: angel investors, angel networks and syndicates, venture capital and corporate venture teams, family offices and accelerators. If you ask for sample leads or a portfolio check, you confirm that you’re doing so for your investing, and that you’re allowed to act for any fund, firm or network you name. “You” means you and any fund, firm or network you act for.

4. Examples on this site

The leads and portfolio alerts shown on this site, and the companies, people, figures, sector counts and lead scores in them, are examples, not real cases. Figures that describe our data, such as how many companies we check, are estimates and may change.

The portfolio box on our homepage counts the companies you paste into it, in your browser. It doesn’t look them up or check them.

5. Sample leads and portfolio checks

Sample leads and portfolio checks are free, and asking for them doesn’t commit you to anything. We decide how many leads a sample includes, which sectors and regions we can offer, how many companies we can check and whether we can send either.

If we send you sample leads, you may use them only to try OriginSignal and to contact the companies they name, for your own investing. You must:

  • keep them confidential, and not share, publish or sell them;
  • contact companies only in their business capacity, through the people a lead names in their work roles, and never use a lead to contact anyone at home or as a private individual;
  • follow the law when you contact anyone, including UK data protection law and the rules on marketing calls and emails in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations; and
  • delete them if we ask you to.

If you send us a portfolio list to check, you confirm that you’re allowed to share it with us for that purpose. We use it only to check those companies for you and to leave them out of your leads.

Leads and alerts are built from public records and our own analysis. They can be incomplete or out of date, and a lead isn’t a sign that a company is raising money, would accept investment or will succeed. Check anything important before you rely on it.

6. Using this site

You must not:

  • copy or collect content from the site in bulk, including with bots, scrapers or crawlers, except as a search engine indexing pages for its results;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems behind it, or interfere with how it works; or
  • use the site in any way that breaks the law.

We may change, suspend or withdraw the site, or any part of it, at any time.

7. Our rights in OriginSignal

We, or the people we license them from, own the rights in the site, in OriginSignal’s leads and alerts and in the database behind them, including copyright and database right, and in the OriginSignal name and logo. Other names and logos on the site belong to their owners.

The site and our leads include public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Information from public sources stays subject to its own licence terms.

8. Information, not investment advice

The site, sample leads, portfolio checks, leads and alerts are for general information. They aren’t investment, financial, legal, tax or other professional advice, and nothing in them is a recommendation to buy or sell any shares or other investment, or an offer of or invitation to do so. A lead score shows how much a lead may be worth looking into now; it isn’t a view on whether to invest.

Investing in early-stage companies is high risk, and you can lose all the money you invest. Make your own checks before you invest, and take professional advice if you need it. We don’t promise that the site, the leads or the alerts are accurate, complete or up to date, or that the site will always be available.

9. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

Subject to that, and because the site, sample leads and portfolio checks are free and meant for business use:

  • we aren’t liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site, sample leads or portfolio checks, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise;
  • in particular, we aren’t liable for any loss of profits, sales, business, revenue, opportunity, goodwill or reputation, or for any indirect or consequential loss; and
  • if we are found liable despite this, our total liability to you is limited to £100.

If you’re a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.

10. Your responsibility

You’re responsible for how you use the site, sample leads and portfolio checks. If your breach of these terms or of the law, or your misuse of a lead, leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our resulting losses and reasonable legal costs.

The site links to other websites, such as the public sources we use. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for them.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here and change the date at the top. The terms that apply are the ones in force when you use the site or receive sample leads or a portfolio check.

13. General

If a court decides that part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the site, sample leads and portfolio checks.

14. Law and courts

These terms, and any dispute about them, the site, sample leads or portfolio checks, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you’re a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
